Dear Hevre,

I’m still basking in the joy of the gathering Scott and my friends and family together for our wedding after which Scott and I enjoyed four days on Cape Cod. [I'm actually still also revved up from Adirchai's visit and having an aufruf with our KHN community!] I’m energized and inspired by this gorgeous September weather, and all the blessings of our Elul community from the teachings I’m absorbing from our tradition and from our shared Torah.

We are on the brink of the Yamim Noraim, the Days of Awe. This Saturday evening will be Selichot services on Zoom from 8:00 - 9:00 pm with several of our Bucks County synagogues. There we will hear the melodies of these days and will be invited to contemplate meaningful themes.  Please join us. Information is in the e-bulletin.

But before Saturday evening, I hope to see you this evening in person at 7:00 pm outside at KHN or on Zoom at:

Also, tomorrow morning at 10:00 am we will have a Contemplative Shabbat gathering led by myself and Debra Brosan with chanting, meditation and a Pardes approach to Torah study (several layers of contemplation of a verse). This event will be on Zoom-only at:

*I have a request: please let us know if you’d be able to help set-up for the high holidays. We will be gathering next Sunday morning the 25th at KHN at 9:00 am until about noon to help put up the pop-up tents, set up chairs and machzorim, and more.

**Would you be willing to be a greeter or someone who helps check people in?

***Is there any other way you’d like to contribute to the high holidays? (offer a reading, receive an aliyah, volunteer some time if last minute needs arise…)

If you are willing to participate in any of these ways, please email KHN Ritual Chair Lew Scheindlin by this Wednedsay the 21st at: lewscheindlin@gmail.com

THANK YOU. It takes a village (a kehillah)!

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend and soon for the holidays.

May this time of contemplation in which we engage in a cheshbon hanefesh, an accounting of our souls, be fruitful and productive and lead us into a year of rejuvenation, connection and justice!

Shabbat shalom,

Rabbi Diana
